Welcome to the NEW Missouri Literacy Association (MLA)! We have been a community of literacy professionals for over 60 years as the Missouri State Reading Council. As the International Reading Association has transitioned to become the International Literacy Association, so have we transitioned to a new name and a renewed emphasis on all areas of literacy.

As a statewide organization, MLA supports literacy at all levels, Pre-K through adult. We strive to support literacy educators with opportunities for local, state, and national networking events and through informative information through our website, our Facebook page, and our journal, The Missouri Reader.

We invite you to find a local group of dedicated educators who are a part of our literacy community.
