• an organization supporting its members for 64 years
• an organization of local councils that provide professional development and literacy events at the local level.
• an organization that co-sponsors The Write to Learn Conference every February at the Lake of the Ozarks.  Nationally recognized speakers as well as state and local instructional leaders provide outstanding professional development.
• an organization that publishes its own journal with input from nationally recognized authors and literacy leaders as well as state and local leaders.

Membership is open to ALL who are interested in promoting literacy.  We invite educators, parents, community leaders and anyone interested to join us.
